Personal Storyline[]
As the adventure begins, Kim and Ron parachute their way to Killigan's hideout as Duff Killigan kidnapped Ricky Rotiffle, a famed snack blogger, which Ron is a huge fan of. However, Wade confirmed the real reason for Duff kidnapping Rotiffle is because Rotiffle is also a top computer programmer. However, Duff arrives and attacks the two, but Kim uses her Kimmunicator to activate the magnetic device disarming Duff causing the golf ball to explode, knocking Duff out. As Duff gets hauled away by authorities, Kim and Ron meet and check up on Rotiffle. Rotiffle confirmed that he was working on a new program called MDD (Massive Data Digester) which is capable of processing information at a faster rate compared to other existing technology. But Rufus reminds Ron and Kim that there's a homecoming football scheduled that night, forcing the two to cut their conversation with Rotiffle short to make it back to Middleton.
At school on the field, Ron wins another game for the Mad Dogs. While the marching band plays at the halftime, Bonnie mockingly asks if Kim would still cheer if she lost the homecoming queen title or have worse humiliation, though Kim responds she'll take her chances. However, Monique points out to Bonnie that Ron is the star and Kim is dating the sports star and Kim supports this by pointing out that Ron broke more school records than Brick did. This sours Bonnie's mood while glumly admitting she and Brick would have been crowned together if the latter didn't go to college.
Soon it is time to officially crown the homecoming king and queen. Ron is crowned homecoming king and it looks as though Kim was going to win homecoming queen. However, due to Bonnie bribing Ron Reiger into rigging the votes, Bonnie is declared homecoming queen, much to the shock of everyone, including Mr. Barkin and Kim's parents.
The scene cuts to Bonnie and Ron being on Mid Day Middleton talk show, where Bonnie used the show to rub salt in Kim's wound by pointing out there was "no real competition" while arrogantly proclaiming that it was her destiny to be queen. While Kim and Monique are watching, Monique advised Kim not to let her jealously get the better of her since that was what Bonnie wanted Kim to do.
At lunch time, both Ron and Bonnie are carried over to their special table, making Kim comment that Bonnie is worse than every supervillain Kim fought. While Bonnie continues to get Kim riled up, Ron points out about receiving a giant donation to the senior centre which cheers Kim up a little only for Bonnie to show a newspaper article of Bonnie and Ron, making Kim get mad at both Ron and Bonnie.
At the fire department, Ron and Bonnie are hosting a pancake breakfast as part of the firehouse fundraiser, with Ron making balloon crowns for the children. As Kim arrives, Ron gets called away by one of the firefighters to take care of the pancake batter that is not tasting right. Kim walks over to Bonnie complimenting on her duties causing Bonnie to be confused as to why Kim is not being bothered. Soon, the fire chief calls over everyone for a group picture. Ron runs over carrying the fire hose for the photo shoot but after Bonnie touches Ron's shoulders, the hose immediately activates spraying Kim in the face with water. Just then, Wade contacts Kim that Rotiffle is missing again. However, Duff Killigan is not behind the kidnapping this time since he's in custody. Nevertheless, Kim asks Wade to function as her sidekick since Ron is busy with homecoming duties. The two entered Rotiffle's computer company and check on the latest blog before he was kidnapped.
Meanwhile, at JP Bearymore's Pizza Party-torium, both Ron and Bonnie are taking part in the grand re-opening. During the celebration, Bonnie feeds Ron a slice of supreme pizza. While Ron appreciates the sentiment, he is confused as to why Bonnie is acting all nice, since he knew that Bonnie insulted him from kindergarten all the way to grade 12 as well as not being the type of person who's interested in a pizza-torium. Bonnie assures Ron that this all happened in the past and there is more to her than he thought. While Ron tries to admit that while it is great that Bonnie is homecoming queen but point out that his love interest is always Kim, Bonnie shuts Ron up by kissing him. At the same time, Kim and Wade arrive to check up on Ron only to get shocked by this. Kim furiously confronts the two but fortunately for Ron, she believes him about Ron being the "kissee" pointing out that "it took [him] 12 stinking years to kiss [her]!" When she angrily confronts Bonnie, the latter tries to insult Kim once more only to struggle and break down crying while admitting her reason for her actions - Brick broke up with her for good. Defeated, Bonnie seeks Kim's help into finding a new love interest for the former. Bonnie searches for different guys at school to date her to no avail. Meanwhile, Kim and Wade enter Rotiffle's mansion only to find it ransacked and the alarm deactivated. However, their investigation gets interrupted when a guard attacks the two before escaping to the helicopter with the stolen MDD. The guard shoots a ray that causes the mansion to collapse but the two were able to escape.
Elsewhere, Bonnie and Ron enter the music store searching for a boyfriend, only for Bonnie to admit she wants a "regular, normal, shallow hottie, preferably not too bright". Later, at Bueno Nacho, Wade was able to crack the code on Rotiffle's computer, showing that Ricky is located in Venice, Italy. Kim, Ron, Wade and Bonnie head off. While on Coco Banana's private jet, Bonnie mentions about her boyfriend problems, garnering sympathy from Coco. Seeing the issue get worse, Wade suggests to Ron to do something. Ron immediately whips out his cellphone and contacts Brick and tries to convince him to get back with Bonnie again. Unfortunately, Brick is confirmed to be done with Middleton High School and Bonnie, with Ron noting that "college has actually made him smarter".
Once the heroes arrived in Venice, they tried to ask a restaurant host about the whereabouts of Rotiffle to no avail. Bonnie, meanwhile is sitting outside the restaurant watching a man hugging his girlfriend. A woman walks by and gives Bonnie the whereabouts of Rotiffle and that he is with another man and points her to the museum. At the museum, Ron gives Bonnie her tiara while Kim asks a security guard about Ricky. While the guard is not aware of Rotiffle's whereabouts, he mistakes Bonnie as a member of royalty. This attracts the attention of the governor as he takes the four on a boat ride. While scouting, Wade notices Ricky on one of the yachts, which is driven by Señor Senior, Junior. Seeing this, Kim drives the governor's boat but Junior, seeing the two due to Ron yelling through the megaphone, flees. A chase ensues but Kim was able to use one of the set of steps to the gondola landings as a ramp to block Junior's way. Junior immediately turns around knocking a dock carrying barrels sending them into the canal. Junior uses a blaster and fires the barrels full of gunpowder to explode to slow them down. However, Kim knows where Junior is taking Ricky.
At the Seniors' island, the heroes sneak in and deactivate their advanced security grid. Once they entered the mansion, it turns out that Junior hired Rotiffle into finding a love interest for the former. While Junior rants, Bonnie notices Junior for the first time and falls in love with him and vice versa.
Later at the Mad Dog Ball, everyone is enjoying the dance and Bonnie is having fun with her new boyfriend. But the joy gets briefly interrupted when Bonnie informs Ron that the yearbook committee has asked Bonnie and Ron to pose for the portrait and feels uncomfortable about it with Ron retorting that "You know, some of us learn and grow from our adventures!" Bonnie dismisses this and continues dancing with Junior while asking if he's not going to college.

Allusions[]
- Sturgis is an allusion to Regis Philbin.
- When Ricky says, “Information is Power.” It may be an allusion to Schoolhouse Rock with their signature line, “Knowledge is Power.”
Trivia[]
- The 83rd episode in chronological order, the 84th in production order.
- This episode aired on Will Friedle's 31st birthday.
- Kim's comment on how it took twelve years for Ron to kiss her indicates she had a crush on him long before the series began.
- We learn that Kim is seventeen years old, or at least was at the time of their Junior Prom, when she says she had to wait twelve years to get a kiss from Ron.
- This calculation would mean more if Kim's age was known when she first met Ron at Pre-K. Though Kim was most likely four since that is the common age at which children are enrolled in Pre-K.
- These facts were also mentioned in A Sitch In Time.
- And this statement would also imply that Kim might have been attracted to Ron when they were roughly five-to-six years old.
- The only episode where Señor Senior, Junior appears without his father, Señor Senior.
- This is the second episode and mission where Bonnie and Kim work together. The first being Bonding.
- If you look closely when the cheerleaders, seconds before Kim enters on screen, cheer for Ron, you can see DNAmy cheering in the bleachers. She is the one in the orange shirt and wearing the red glasses.
- Mr. Barkin mentions that Ron Reiger won second place in the Tri-City Science Fair, which also makes him the second known student from Middleton High School to excel in any mentioned science fair, the first being Justine Flanner.
- We learn that Bonnie has known Ron since kindergarten.
- Bonnie reveals that she and Brick have broken up for good, with Brick having dumped her since he left for college. Also, when Ron called Brick to try and convince him to get back together with Bonnie, Ron notes to Wade how it seems that college had made Brick much smarter than he was back in high school, also noting that Brick has completely moved on from anything related to high school.
Errors[]
- Before the theme song, Kim and Ron were wearing helmets when they defeated Duff. After the opening credits, Kim and Ron are not wearing their helmets.
- The number of football players who are standing off the field changes between shots. Also, in a few shots, Mr. Barkin is missing.
- Since the man tends to keep moving, he is simply offscreen.
- When Bonnie says, "Buckle up, sister," to Kim, the other members who were voted for Homecoming King and Queen that are standing beside Kim are missing. Though they could have been standing a few more feet apart from Kim.
- As Bonnie runs up to Mr. Barkin to be crowned Homecoming Queen, one of the candidates (a girl wearing a yellow dress) is missing.
- Although canon does not indicate they were caught, Ron Reiger and Bonnie could have gotten in trouble with Mr. Barkin for rigging the votes.
- In one shot, when Kim and Wade are looking at Rotiffle's blogs, Kim's mission shirt is completely black while in other shots, her mission shirt is purple and is only part black because of the lighting.
- The number of members in the crowd changes in different shots during the moment where Bonnie is crying and admitting her breakup with Brick at JP Bearymore's Pizza Party-torium.
- When Ron is on Coco Banana's plane on his way to Venice, he is in his mission clothes. However, when they arrive in Venice, he is wearing his usual clothes. Later, when he is on the boat, he has returned to his mission outfit.
- Time is the simplest answer.
- As he opens the gate to Rotiffle's community, Wade tells Kim, "After you", and he then precedes her through the gate.
- Bonnie hands Ron a slice of supreme pizza but the pizza slice shown is just pepperoni pizza. Besides pepperoni, supreme pizzas also have vegetable toppings on it such as mushrooms, onions and green peppers and other meats such as sausages.
- Kim complains that it took Ron "twelve stinking years" to kiss her after seeing Bonnie kiss him. But since Bonnie has been calling Ron cruel names since kindergarten, one year less than Pre-K, she has known him almost as long, at least eleven years.
- It is generally recommended to start Pre-K at the age of four. In season 3 of the show, Kim and Ron were 16-17 years old when Kim, affected by Dr. Cyrus Bortel's Moodulator, shared her first kiss with Ron during Emotion Sickness episode, and then again, as an official couple, in the So the Drama movie. Therefore, Kim's statement that it took 12 years before her first kiss with Ron is correct.
Continuity[]
- JP Bearymore's Pizza Party-Torium has a grand re-opening in this episode because it was destroyed by Motor Ed in Car Alarm.
- Coco Banana gives Team Possible a ride in this episode to pay them back for their assistance in recovering his stolen designs in Fashion Victim.
- Brick graduating from Middleton High was first mentioned in Ill Suited. Homecoming Upset is meant to show how Bonnie would react if she and Brick broke up for good.
- This is the second time Bonnie gained a sudden interest in Ron's popularity, with the first time being in Ron Millionaire. However, unlike Ron Millionaire, Ron is smart enough not to let his fame go to his head and is not interested in Bonnie's company due to him being in a relationship with Kim.
