Valentine's Day was approaching, and Wade met Monique in person for the first time, developing an instant crush on her. Ron took Kim and Monique to Paris, and the Señor Seniors tried to conquer half the world's population using Wade's new invention.

Mission Briefing

Episode Description

Holy cannoly

"Holy Cannoly! I have a girlfriend on Valentine's Day!"

Valentine's Day was imminent, and at Club Banana, Monique was complaining to Kim about a horrible drive-through date she had. She also revealed her jealously about Kim and Ron probably have something planned for Valentine's Day while she was dateless. However Kim responded that Ron had not remembered about it and they had no plans. As if on cue, Ron arrived at Club Banana because Smarty Mart's pet department was closed for a while as some animal cages were left open and "food chain issues" occurred.

Kim reminded him about Valentine's Day, but Ron said her he never had a girlfriend on Valentine's Day, which was when he realized that year he did have a girlfriend. Wade popped up in person, scaring Ron by tapping him on the shoulder. Wade was there to change out the batteries on the Kimmunicator, and to show Kim a new X-ray plug-in. Monique greeted him for the first time in person and suddenly Wade fell in love with her. He wanted to ask her out, but Monique did not care for the age difference and he was too shy to try. Ron decided to help him out, going even as far as to say, "Who's dating Kim Possible?" to prove his credit as being able to help him.

After a failed attempt at the mall due mainly to Ron mixing up 'dating' with Abraham Lincoln and an unusual poem that he had written for class, Wade got an idea from Ron to invent a "Cupid Ray" which would make Monique fall in love with him. Overnight, Wade developed the new device and built a prototype. Just after he finished it, Ron entered with the idea they needed to take Monique somewhere romantic. Therefore, they took Kim and Monique to France with Ron claiming the Eiffel Tower was in danger. Fortunately for the two boys, Kim reached the impression that Ron brought her to Paris for a date, which she found romantic. While she pulled Ron away to talk to him about not encouraging Wade, the young genius casually zapped Monique with the device and it worked like a charm. Although confused, Kim believed that maybe all Wade needed was a third chance and she returned her focus back to Ron for the night.

Unfortunately, Señor Senior Junior and his father were in France for "Le Goop" gel, and saw the Cupid Ray in action from inside a store. Amazed at its capabilities and the potential to use it for evil, the two later stole the schematics from Wade's house while he was away and acquired advanced sound systems in order to amplify the Cupid Ray by roughly a hundred megawatts. Kim confronted Ron over the way Monique had suddenly fawned over Wade, and eventually forced him to confess about the Cupid Ray. Although disappointed in both of them—Wade for doing it, Ron for not trying to stop it—Kim focused on the fact that the technology was in the hands of the Seniors. Fortunately, Wade discovered that Junior was hosting a Free for Ladies Only concert and the team prepared to leave when Monique arrived to confront Wade over what he had done to her. Needing to move quickly, Kim zapped Monique with the Ray, bringing her along for the mission.

Entering the concert itself proved to be difficult as Monique lacked a grappling hook like the others had. However, after dressing Wade and Ron as women, the four were able to walk in the front doors without issue. Aware that the Cupid Ray could effect Kim and Monique, Wade gave them special earplugs to prevent the ray from having an effect on them. Junior arriveed on stage shortly after and the crowd disliked his singing until Senior activated the Cupid Ray, which suddenly went from annoyed disinterest to raving over him like he was the best singer in the world. As the crowd went wild, Ron was knocked into Monique and her hearing protection fell outng, leaving her again vulnerable to the Cupid Ray as she joined the crowd. Annoyed, Kim went after Junior and confronted the confused villain as he did not understand why Kim was immune to the ray. Unfortunately for Kim, Senior was hiding behind her and removed her ear protection before she noticed he was there and fell under effect of the amplified Cupid Ray.

Hey give

"Hey, give me back my girlfriend!"

Desperate to stop their efforts from unraveling further, Ron went after Junior personally while Wade went to find the Cupid Ray. While Ron distracted everyone's attention by confronting Junior for luring Kim toward him, Wade snuck backstage and removed his feminine disguise. Wade was confronted by Senior, who introduced him to his two minions, "Evil" and "Treachery". Fortunately, Wade evaded the two as they attacked him via his grappling belt and disabled the device, turning the Cupid Ray's effects on the concert attendees off and allowing them to run Junior out of the concert building as a mob.

Later at Bueno Nacho, Kim and Ron were having a simple date for Valentine's Day, but their kiss was interrupted by Monique reprimanding Wade over the whole incident. However, Monique was still happy with being his friend although she was simply not interested in a romantic attachment. Fortunately, Wade noticed a girl more his age in the form of Olivia, who was sitting a short distance away. After he moved to introduce himself to her, Monique realized she was dateless on Valentine's Day.

Later, Wade explained to Ron that Olivia was a super genius herself, had invented her own Cupid Ray, and had been using it on him. Ron momentarily freaked out, worried that Kim also had one when she walked up and startled him. Kim referred to Ron as weird, adding "I like weird".

Memorable Quotes

Monique: Look, Wade. Okay, I know what it's like to crush, I do, but… *zapped by Cupid Ray, squeals* You're so adorable!

(At the end of the episode when Kim meets Ron in the mall)
Kim: Hey, Ron.
Ron and Rufus: Ahhh!
Kim: What are you doing?
Ron: Nothing.
Kim: You're weird.
Ron: Kim…
Kim: Shh… I like weird.

Kim: You do know what happens in February. Don't you, Ron?
Ron: Groundhog Day. Presidents Day. Dental Health Month! Oh, that reminds me! Rufus!
Rufus: (comes out of Ron's pocket with a toothbrush) Ta-da!
Ron: Happy Dental Health month, KP. It has a tongue scraper on the back.
Kim: Ahem, Valentine's Day.
Ron: Oh, uh, I don't celebrate. I mean, yeah, you know, I never had a girlfriend on... (Realizes that Kim is his girlfriend) Holy Canoli! I have a girlfriend on Valentine's Day!

Ron: The notes! Go to the notes!
Wade: Oh, um... (reading) 'The humble earthworm is vital to agriculture. It moves through the soil by excreting lubricating mucus.
Kim and Monique: EW!
Ron: Okay, wait, that's my biology report. But...OH, that means...!
(cut to Mr. Barkin reading Ron's notes in his classroom)
Mr. Barkin: Awww. That's a lovely thought. A+, Stoppable. (wipes away a tear) A+!

Ron: You need to whisk Monique away to the City of Lice!
Wade: You mean Paris? The City of Lights?

Notes

  • This is the first time where Monique and Wade met in person. The two already knew each other, but this is the first time they met personally and seeing her in person is what caused his crush.
  • First interrupted kiss between Kim and Ron, something which becomes a running gag.
  • Wade's father's first name is Lontaine—Wade's mother's first name is still unknown.
  • Kim thinks nothing of zapping Monique herself to shut her up, and threatens to do it again latter.
  • Kim was working at her job at Club Banana, but Ron was off work from Smarty Mart due to the pet department being closed because some cages were left open, which to led to "Food Chain-issues," making this the only time Kim was working and Ron was not.
  • Wade may be twelve here, as Monique says he would not be old enough to drive for four more years, but Kim mentions that he is five years younger than them. Monique, Kim and Ron may be at least seventeen as they are old enough to drive.

Production Information

Errors

  • Kim has her original mission outfit, which was destroyed earlier.[1], but had worn her new mission outfit before this.[2]
  • In Paris, while Ron and Wade are hiding behind the bushes and discussing the plan, Monique has two heads.
  • Wade claimed that the batteries had lasted for about four years, but this runs contrary to the Kimmunicator being previously destroyed during Ron's fight with Drakken on his Drak-Force One spaceship, and a new one sent to Kim.[3]

Continuity

  • Ron refers to the other time that he wore a dress, but he was mind switched with Kim at the time.[4]
  • Ron uses Le Goop hair gel on Wade, which was first introduced to Ron by Francois.[5]

Allusions

  • The Cupid Ray has similar effects to HunkaHunka from Lilo and Stitch: The Series.
